A dense, deep, intense red wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in Picedo and Groppello grapes grown in San Giovanni, Raffa. The meticulous quality selection of the bunches, during the vegetative and pre-harvest phases, yields a limited-production wine, aged for 12 months in small oak barrels (called carati) and subsequently refined in large elliptical wood barrels.

Each 2017 reserve case contains six bottles of theor the same wine with six labels of six different colors, each of which emphasizes the expressive notes that make up its complex aroma.

Men change, and sometimes denominations, and with them even the “secret” combinations that define the intimate character of a wine change, yet the spirit of a great wine is never lost.

San Gioan I Carati, Pasini San Giovanni’s deepest and smoothest red wine, has embodied the spirit of the “riserva” since its debut in 1981.

Finally, the 2017 edition deserves the Riserva designation on the label, the result of an extremely rigorous selection harvest applied to the oldest vines of Groppello Gentile, Marzemino, and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in the municipalities of Puegnago and Polpenazze.

The 2016 vintage bottles are thinner in number and more expressive. The arrival of the Riserva designation and the multifaceted nature of the 2016 San Gioan have convinced the Pasini family to dress this more austere red with six labels in six different colors, inspired by the most evident sensory notes characteristic of the more complex Valtènesi Riserva.

OUR COMPANY

Founded by Andrea Pasini in 1958 and still family-run today, Pasini San Giovanni, now run by the third generation of winemakers, expresses the distinctive character of the Garda area in every bottle, thanks to its 36 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, spanning the Valtènesi and Lugana regions, on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda. Supported by a photovoltaic system since 2009 and a carbon footprint assessment project, the winery and the entire company management are increasingly moving closer to achieving full sustainability.
The company today has two names, one obviously linked to the Pasini family who created and has always run the company, the other linked to the local toponym where Cascina San Giovanni is located, called the San Giovanni area and linked to the church of San Giovanni located in Palude, a hamlet of Puegnago not far from Raffa.
